FSU Jena wins the SPSG Park3D Project!

Last modified date

The FSU Jenacopter Labs team won the Park3D project proposal with SPSG (Stiftung Preußische Schlösser und Gärten). In 2025 and 2026 we will in detail analyze the vitality of the vegetation in the historical park regions Sanssouci and Babelsberg with various copter-based sensors: The P1 (a 35mm full frame 45 Megapixel RGB camera) and the L2 (a Lidar with 240k scan points/s will be used to map the vegetation structure with detailed point cloud data. Spectral data is captured with the Micasense Altum PT 5 +thermal camera system and calibration is done with a 50% reflectance panel. We will repeat the flight campaigns at specific dates to capture the tree cover phenology in ’25 and ’26. Based on the data we will develop a full monitoring system than can be used to detect changes in change of vitality and vegetation density yearly.
